When the cats are away, the mice will play =D [28 Apr 2006|08:47am] [ mood | bouncy ] It's so funny to read the LJs of fellow comm majors. It's a reminder of how I'm probably the only one with a not-so-comm-related practicum. :p I'm just one of the 3 interns under the HR department (Yup, that's HR...not PR hahaha!!). There are only 8 of us in the S.H.I.N.E. internship program -- 5 from Ateneo, 3 from UP. Just imagine how I felt at the panel interview. I was with students majoring in Management Engineering, Management Honors, Industrial Engineering, and Business Administration & Accountancy (tama ba?). Gee, what's up with that?? Thank God for Kia. :D She's my fellow SOSS student, and she just happens to be the girlfriend of one of my closest friends. She's my neighbor in the office, too. Her cube is right beside mine...but it doesn't really make a difference since I always crash her place (Yes, we have our own mini-offices! With provided PCs/laptops!). Anyway, our bosses are out at an HR planning session, so our load's pretty light today. Plus, it's Labor Day on Monday. Wow, now I know why that holiday's such a big deal for employed people. In my case, I'll be here for 5 more weeks since it's a 7-week program. And that final week will make or break us. Why? Because we'll be presenting our projects to a panel again. GAH. Scary!(It kinda reminds me of those investigatory projects back in high school. I sucked at those.) Handling 2 major projects is pressure enough, but I've got 2 more less-major ones. WOW. Wish me luck! One of the less-major projects excites me though, since I'll be doing PR work. Yay! It makes me feel like a comm major again, hehehe. I'll be managing this "big deal" event for the end of May, so whoopdeedoo. :) Can you feel the pressure? I do. I'm not complaining, though, because I'm super happy. Despite the pressure, the early calltime, and the way-too-cold air conditioning, I love it here. I even love my semi-slavedriver/fashionista of a boss. :) Hahaha. Another thing I'm not complaining about (aside from the fact that the office is 5 minutes away from my house)? The weekly allowance. :) :) :) And guess what? They seem to have the same theme when it comes to their company names, huh? Amazing. ;) Oh, if anyone knows stuff about these companies, let me know please. Okay? I'm basically clueless. All I really know is where they're offices are located. Whoops. I just sent my resume to a bunch of companies, hoping they'd offer me a job. I feel like I'm still on sembreak mode, especially since the two weeks before second semester were dedicated to regcom. It's only now that I'm finally free of 6am calltimes and Q&As...and I've been taking advantage of it. Wahooey. Everyday is like a whole new adventure with a group of crazy, crazy people. I love it. ♥ Great party last night. Yay! Great place, great program, great theme, great food *ahem*, great decors...and the best people. :D (Mark C...we miss you!!!) [20 Oct 2005|08:17pm] [ mood | silly ] Just got back from baby-sitting my brother's kids...and, hey, I survived. :p Good thing their maids finally came back from their vacation. Oh well, they saved me from boredom, anyway. Why do they keep showing scary movies on TV? Is it because Halloween's approaching? It seems like every single time I turn the TV on, some damsel in distress is screaming her lungs out because some creature is out to get her. Oh, and most of the time, it just HAS to be a bathroom scene. My absolute favorite. (I'm being sarcastic, mind you.) Freak me out even more, why don't you? ^_^; You'd think I'd appreciate these kinds of movies more because I was born right before Halloween, but the irony is that it's the exact opposite. I'm terrified. Hello, who wore sunglasses inside the theatre while watching some Japanese horror flick?! Ahem. Nevermind. Anyway, check out my new pet. nano nano nano nano nano nano nano... [26 Sep 2005|09:51am] [ mood | giddy ] My mom got back from the states a few hours ago, and she brought home some goodies for me. Including my baby, of course. ♥ I feel so loved. Heehee. And spoiled (which I hardly ever feel, mind you). ;p My tito even gave me his digicam, so I no longer have to use my dad's cybershot. Heck, I hardly even use it because I have to be very, very careful everytime. But now I have my own and it's mine, all mine! Okay, so it's not a cybershot...but who cares? I still lovelovelove my tito. :D Waah...I'm too scared to use my baby. :( My mom keeps telling me, "Take good care of that. Pang birthday mo na 'yan at pang Christmas na rin!" Eep. Talk about pressure. And it's tube probably won't come 'til October because my sister's giving me one (or two? heehee) for my birthday. I'm feeling the OC-ness right now. Gah. [13 Jul 2005|11:11pm] [ mood | touched ] One of the sweetest messages I've received lately... hey are you free at 9am? jason, mj, and i and whoever are gonna kidnap you there sa dormitoryana and we'll make you happy, sama ka ha? :) Aww...♥ Too bad I've got a class at 9 and won't be out 'til 1:30. They told me to cut my first class (tsk tsk), and I'd be willing to do so if I hadn't known there'd be a quiz. Oh well. =/ Roommates and I had a good cry when we watched If Only a while ago. I finally got some sort of release, which I've really been needing lately. What a nice, depressing story. Now that's my kind of movie. (Jennifer Love's face is too thin, though -- it's scary.) And I didn't make them believe otherwise. ^_^; I had to cut my philo class today. *sob* It was my only class, and I super love the subject/teacher. Stupid me forgot my wallet (with my ID inside) at the dorm, and I was already running late to begin with. So I had to go back and get it. Uh, I don't really want to be stuck doing mandatory work for the school. HASSLE. But, hey, they didn't have a quiz like I expected them to! Yahooey. :D Why? Because I wasn't there. Hahahaha! (Di nga...Seryoso ba yun?? Nakakagago si sir!) Anyway, when I finally arrived back at school (after walking in the rain with mud splattering my legs huhuhu), I literally saw pink. Pink everywhere. Wheeeee <3 People were dressed in shades of cotton candy, bazooka, and pepto bismol(sp??). Hahahaha. And I slipped on my way to meet them. GAH. Oh well.
